Download your data
On the website, go to Settings → Privacy → Your data → Download my data. It downloads straight away, with no email and no waiting.
- The photo links in the file stop working one hour after you download it. Ask for a fresh export and save the images you want to keep straight away.
- You can ask for one export a minute. If you are told an export was just generated, wait a minute and try again. Nothing is lost.
- If you use only the phone app, sign in on the website with the same email address to get your file.
If you want your data and your account deleted, download first and delete second. After deletion there is no account to download from.
Delete your account
Open the Flare app and sign in, or sign in at myflaredating.com. Choose Delete my account, which is under Settings → Account on the website (in the app, under Account). Then confirm with Yes, delete my account.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window and no way to restore the account. You can only sign up again as a new member.
Deleting removes your profile, photos, location, prompt answers, interests and verification data (apart from a minimised record of your identity check, and a short record of any Faith & values consent, which are kept), your likes, matches and messages, your blocks, and any date you shared with a trusted contact.
Some records are kept after you delete, and the Privacy Policy lists them. It also says that while an investigation of a report about an account is open, you may not be able to delete it. Read the Privacy Policy for what is kept and for how long.
If you pay for a membership through a store, cancel it there first. See Plans and payments.
Sign out of other devices
On the website, go to Settings → Account → Security → Active sessions and choose Sign out of all devices. It signs out every session including the one you are using, so you will be asked to sign in again. This is the way to sign out of a phone you no longer have.
The ordinary Sign out button signs out only the device you press it on, so your other devices stay signed in.
The session list can show more sessions than you have devices, because every sign-in creates a session. Web sessions read "Web browser" with no address.
