Our community, together
More connection.
More care for each other.
A few shared values make room for better conversations, real friendships and meaningful connections.
Illustrative imageBring your whole self. Leave room for others.
These expectations apply to profiles, prompts, messages and photos. Respect is part of every connection.
Be yourself
Use real photographs of yourself, not AI-generated or AI-altered faces. Do not impersonate anyone or mislead people about who you are.
More about this rule
Your profile photos must be real photographs of you. Images of a face that are AI-generated or AI-altered are not allowed, whether the whole photo is synthetic or a real photo has had a face swapped or generated onto it. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not misrepresent your identity, your age, or your affiliation with anyone.
Every account has to pass an identity check before it can be seen at all. Flare does not detect AI-generated images automatically; the photo rule is enforced when a profile is reported and a person reviews it. If a profile’s photos do not look real to you, report it.
Respect the answer
Blocking is immediate and mutual. Do not try to get around a block, or interfere with anyone’s use of blocking, reporting or Share My Date.
More about this rule
Blocking is immediate and mutual. Do not try to get around a block, and do not interfere with another person’s use of blocking, reporting, or Share My Date.
Keep it kind
No harassment, threats or abuse. Bios, prompt answers, like comments and messages are checked against a short list of words we do not allow.
More about this rule
Do not harass, threaten, or abuse another user.
When you save a bio or a prompt answer, or send a like comment or a message, Flare checks it against a list of words and phrases it does not allow. If one is found it is not posted and you are asked to edit it. The list is short and will not catch everything, and it does not check photos, so reporting is still how most problems reach us.
Protect privacy
Do not post another person’s photo or personal information without their consent, and do not systematically scrape or collect data from Flare.

Keep the community safe
No scams, and no asking members for money, gifts or financial information. Flare is for adults 18+, and you can report or block anyone.
More about this rule
- Flare is for people 18 and over. Do not use Flare if you are under 18, or if you have previously been removed from it for breaking the Terms.
- No scams, and no requests for money. Do not ask another user for money, gifts, or financial information, or direct them off Flare to do so.
- You can report or block anyone, from their profile, a conversation, or the pre-match likes-you list. Reports are reviewed by a person, not a bot. We do not state a response time. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local authorities rather than waiting on a report.
- We can suspend or terminate an account that breaks the Terms or the law, including after a report.
Verification compares a submitted government ID against the name and date of birth on the profile, at the moment the check was run. It is not a criminal background check, it does not re-run if the profile is later edited, and it is not a guarantee of anyone’s behaviour. When you meet someone from Flare, meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and use Share My Date.
Share responsibly
Only share what you have the right to share. It must be lawful and must not infringe anyone’s rights. No commercial promotion, advertising or spam.
More about this rule
You are responsible for what you put on Flare. It must be lawful, must not infringe anyone else’s rights, and must follow the Terms. Do not use Flare for commercial promotion, advertising, or spam.
These guidelines say, in plain words, what is already in our Terms of Service. The Terms govern: if anything here ever reads differently, the Terms are what apply.
You don’t have to handle it alone.
You can report or block anyone from their profile or a conversation. Blocking is immediate and mutual. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local authorities.
A thoughtful review.
A safer community.
Reports are reviewed by a person, not a bot, and an account that breaks the Terms can be suspended or terminated. Contact support if you need help with an action on your account.
